This month's Team Spotlight highlights Sarah Shields, an account manager in our Colorado office. Let's get to know her a little better!
How long have you been with Elevation Reps?
I joined Elevation just this year!
How did you get started in the foodservice industry?
I got started in the foodservice industry by helping out as a prep/dishwasher at a local catering company in my hometown of Blair, NE at the age of 13. In high school, I took a job as a server at the local Pizza Hut and eventually followed my passion for cooking by earning a Culinary Degree from Metropolitan Community College in Omaha and continuing on to earn a degree in Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales University.
Do you do sales for a specific niche area? If so, what do you like best about that part of the industry?
My focus is on tabletop, which I find exciting as it is a very important part of creating the guest experience while dining at a restaurant or hotel. How the table is set is very important in ensuring that the theme is carried through, not just with the food, but how it is presented.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
Interacting with people and all the different projects keeps the days ever-changing.
Do you have a favorite food or beverage?
Too many to list, but if I had to narrow them down, a well made old fashioned or glass of pinot noir and homemade pizza on the grill.
Tell us one place you’ve always wanted to go to, but haven’t made it there yet.
I would love to go to Bali. Maybe someday.
